Why ROI matters before the investment

Many automation projects in manufacturing start without anyone having a defensible answer to whether and when they will pay back. The figures on the vendor side are supplier promises, not independent assessments. The actual benefit depends on the specific production: cycle times, scrap rates, labour input and energy costs differ in every plant.

An ROI analysis calculates the investment on the basis of your real data. We capture the current state, assess the achievable benefit per automation step and present payback period and risks transparently. If a step does not pay off, we say so clearly.

The result is a written report with a business case per assessed step. The report is the basis for your investment decision and belongs to you, whether a further step with us follows or not.

Frequently asked questions about ROI analysis

Which figures are used in the ROI calculation?

Typically: investment cost, ongoing operating cost, saved labour hours, reduced scrap, energy savings and set-up time reduction. The basis is your real production data, not industry averages.

Can an ROI analysis lead to a no-recommendation?

Yes, and that is the point. If an automation step is not economically justified for your production, we say so in the report. We sell neither hardware nor licences, so we have no interest in recommending something that does not pay off.

How does the ROI analysis relate to the automation audit?

The automation audit provides an initial assessment and prioritisation. The ROI analysis deepens the financial aspect: it calculates the prioritised steps concretely and delivers the figures needed for an investment decision.
